Our show is only a couple of weeks away now. March 20th is the setup and the show is on the 21st and 22nd, By now everyone should have decided on and started prepping their show trees. Please take the time to do a detailed check of the trees; trim anything that needs it, moss the tree and clean the pots. The same kind of attention should be going into our accent plants; they should be thoughtful and hopefully not thrown together just before the show.We are the California Bonsai Society and we should be putting on the best exhibit possible. So please take the time to be sure our trees, accents and stands are as good as we can make them.
An exhibit like this requires lots of help to set up and I hope that you can be there to help on Friday, March 20th. We need lots of participation over the weekend providing a watchful eye and answering questions and especially lots of help breaking it down and putting everything away Sunday evening. This is a great opportunity for some of our newer, younger members to get involved on a deeper level. I encourage everyone that can to do as much as possible to help make this exhibit one that we can all be proud of and that reflects the quality and artistry of our membership.
There is a reception on Saturday night that is hosted by the Huntington for the bonsai community, I hope that many of you can make that.
Also please remember that except for seniors over 80, your membership dues must be paid in order to display a tree so if you haven’t already done so please get them in. A membership form is included in this email for your convenience.
If you have any questions about your display or want to volunteer to help out please contact our show chair- Lindsay Shiba at (909)806-0937 or myself at (818) 259-8361 Lets all pitch in and make this the best CBS show ever.
